Battler v Battler

Looks like the “battlers” aren’t the conservatives’ rhetorical favoured class any more.

No sympathy for you if something horrible happens to your family, you lower-class yobbo!

  1. Bolt’s column was brilliant, even if misunderstood by Zeigler. If lefties could understand stuff they wouldn’t be lefties.

Debbie Webbe, the mother of the driver’s girlfriend, might well be wrong in directing her anger at the police instead of her daughter’s boyfriend.

The mother was at fault, but for not blaming herself as well. The needs to fist her anus with both ands and punch her head while they are up there.

Bolt’s point about broken homes is also valid. the consequence of casual attitudes about parents divorcing is that there will be more scarred, neglected and abused children, and more social problems as a result. And many more incidents like this.

The evidence is the fact that she is unable to take any responsibility for what has happened and unable to blame anyone but the police. Her fault is not that she is a battler, but that she is an idiot, with no sense of right and wrong. The daughter has paid a high price for the life her mother has chosen to lead.

  2. ‘Brilliant’ in a Glenn Beck kinda way, I suppose?
You’re getting more deranged by the day SB.

Just like Howard’s Batttlers, you’ll also note that Gay and Lesbians will lose what small support they had from conservatives.
For a while it was convenient to champion gay rights as a counterpoint to Iran’s treament of homosexuals, but they really don’t have the stomach for it.

The redneck ‘Tea Partiers’ have taken to yelling ‘faggot’ at gay Congressmen and the ‘Religious Right’ have a well documented bigotry when it comes to “The Homosexual Lobby.

Although both are examples of homophobia within the dysfunctional American society, I expect it to be imported into Australia any time soon.

    Cheers.

  3. I thought that they were different words for the same sort of thing: you know, “battlers” are the poor people you like, “bogans” are the ones you don’t like…just like “philanthropist” is the rich person you like and “grandstanding prick” is the one you don’t.

  4. I’m all for robust debate and I’m certainly no prude but the violent anal rape comment by SB is disgusting.

Perhaps you, SB, are part of the new barbarianism?

  5. Talking about battlers vs battlers, take a look at this big sookie from Lindsay Tanner – he must be really worried. Interesting that by far the majority of comments are against what he writes.

  6. DD, Tanner is right to point out that holier than thou types are also likely to be ruthless opportunists grasping at power by all means necessary. It is paradoxical that they are so ready to sacrifice principle for their ‘principles’.

  7. Marek, what’s with all the stuff about gays? How is that relevant?

Skeptic, how is it rape if you do it to yourself? On that basis, you probably rape yourself many times each day!

  8. Sb

How is a reader to comprehend that from what you wrote, i.e.

“The needs to fist her anus with both ands and punch her head while they are up there.”

  9. Skeptic, my typos let me down, (She/The)

  10. “DD, Tanner is right to point out that holier than thou types are also likely to be ruthless opportunists grasping at power by all means necessary. It is paradoxical that they are so ready to sacrifice principle for their ‘principles’.”

There’s “holier than thou” types on all sides of every issue btw.

    It isn’t just the Greens.

    Evans right too.

Cept I’d say they’re battlers when you need them, bogans when they decide workchoices is a greater threat than boat people.

And ferals aren’t bogans … ferals are more likely to live in tepees than in Deer Park or Broady. It kind of says more about the Bolt view of the “other”. He must be a narrow minded lonely prick.

Living back in the 70s when all tattoos were evil and done in gaol.

The real irony of all this is that most of the right wing elite (and make no mistake they are the actual elite) are scared shitless of bogans. (Or bikers.

Or anyone with a beard. Or black people.)

    Physically scared. Intimidated.

Howard was the classic, but there’s plenty of others on the right. In politics and in the media.

(There’s probably plenty on the left too.)

Usually cos they are a bunch of soft, pampered twats who never done a days hard anything in their lives. Never actually put their body on the line for anything, especially anything that benefits anyone else. And know they are living the good life on the hard work of other people.

Most people like Bolt know they would be belted quick smart if they actually called “those people” (the ones poorer than him, esp with tatts) brainless, or the other vile tripe in his rant, to their faces:

“What a world we are literally creating. Two centuries ago in Britain, the rich outbred the poor, and pushed their values down the social scale. Now the poor – many virtuous, yes, but others lazy, careless or unsocialised – outbreed the rich, and the mob’s values are pushed up. ”

Rich values like workchoices Andrew? You crypto eugenicist fuckhead.
