An Onymous Lefty

Do as we say, not as we do

3 July, 2009 · 4 Comments

I’m just trying to find a definition for “staggeringly hypocritical tantrums whose authors should be booed and laughed at until my throat is sore” that doesn’t involve a reference to the hilarious rants by News Ltd chairman John Hartigan and the editors of The Australian this week.

Blogs are bad (except for the ones we publish). Reporting stories broken by other news organisations is bad (except when we do it). Commentary on articles in other publications is bad (except when we do it). Defamation laws should be more vigorously prosecuted (except when they’re being used against us).

They couldn’t look more ridiculous if they tried.

And the funniest thing of all is that they still can’t see it.

i’ve said it before, and i’ll say it again… there’s a reason they’re called news limited.

I tried to watch the Press Club speech, but the barf was ruining my carpet.

The man has such a tenuous grasp of the issues and the technology, I can only assume the folk on his staff who were drafted to explain it all to him were cringing. They’re probably relieved he didn’t have call to mention “tubes”.
