Rolling Stone thinks Wall St is using the bailout “to stage a revolution”.
I think they’re just jealous that it never occurred to THEM to stuff over the country and then hold it to ransom.

Bizarrely enough, there are a few sad morons out there on the intertubes pretending to be me - commenting on other blogs as "MrLefty" or "Jeremy Sear" (using the same image of Blackadder), copying my posts into new blogs (or trying to steal my actual ones) but slightly changing the text to invert its meaning, and generally being obnoxious in an attempt to sully my good name (or pseudonym).
So if you see something purporting to be from me that seems to be completely opposite to what I argue here (for example, if I suddenly start suggesting we need tax cuts and more religion in government and I'm not being sarcastic) - then it's not me. It's one of the trolls. Please delete the spiteful hack's drivel.
UPDATE: In order to stop trolls impersonating people, commenting now requires you to create a free WordPress account (which takes all of 30 seconds).
This blog applies a "no d*ckhead" commenting policy. Vigorous debate is encouraged. People attacking each other personally isn't. If you're just making the place unpleasant, expect to find such comments summarily deleted.
Or not - I reserve the right to apply the policy inconsistently.
If you have an issue with a moderation decision - EMAIL ME. Do NOT bring it up on the comment thread in question.

wow, wordpress’ possibly related post?
someone ALSO linking to matt taibbi’s article in rolling stone.
genius.
The article is a little puzzling. It’s as though the author has seen the GFC as a blow to US nationali narcisissm, rather than as an inevitably linked to the parasitic elements of the finance sector.
It may be irony on your part, but what this article describes has none of the loopiness and paranoia of a ‘conspiracy’. The US Government has been colluding with these people for years.
Finally, for those who like their economic explanations of the finance sector meltdown in cartoon form, here is ten minutes of gold:

Too big to fail is a myth. AIG, citi and all the rest who have recieved bailout money should just be allowed to fall over and their assets sold off.
Bad managers are still running these compainies making the same bad decisions, which old survive because of bailout funds.
The US and world govenments would be better off letting deflation come in and bailing out consumers with these trillions they are spending on bankrupt financial instutions. This would allow only the stong and well managed financial instutions to survive.
Cant keep throwing good money after bad for ever or the govenment goes broke.
I thought the bailout was created to avoid a revolution!
When you Git your Pitcher on the cover of a Rolling Stone. Nah!Every time I see a photo of Palestinians they are all wearing blue jeans,if the Palestinians defended themselves by guitars and editions of Rolling Stones the newspaper would it work!? Maybe maybe not!? The “complex financial breakdown” as some used similar words to describe American financial doings, has adequately and informatively covered by a Rock and Roll based newspaper. So there must be some dumb eggs in the U.S.A. administration compared to a plethora of rock personality stories often to be read out about in Rolling Stone. And I cannot always think Rock and Roll shows any intelligence.
